Historical Geography

I am really interested in remixing the historical and spatial dimensions. I love to take stuff to the next thing. So where an archeologist (someone who investigates human history) might stop, I might pick it up and extend it. I did this for my place of birth, Alkmaar, The Netherlands. By looking at the archeological record from the perspective of a geologist I was able to determine the site (characteristics of a place itself) and the situation (characteristics of a place in relation to the wider surroundings) and come up with some wonderfull new ideas and explanations.
